川藏线东起成都，西至拉萨，全长(含北线）3170多公里，跨越海拔4000米以上的大雪山21座，冬季气温零下20多度，氧气含量不足内地的70%,且泥石流、塌方、雪崩等自然灾害终年不断，被世人称为“生命禁区”。

川藏公路，历史上为茶马古道，是川康公路和康藏公路的合称。川康公路建于20世纪30年代，是成都通往原西康省省会雅安的公路;康藏公路建于20世纪50年代初,是雅安通往西藏拉萨的公路,著称中国“西部奇路”。

川藏线旅游,要翻越雪山、跨越江河、行走草原和原始森林,一路艰辛,处处危险,一路风情,处处风景,是旅游探险爱好者和摄影家的天堂,被誉为中国**风景线。

Sichuan Kangxi highway, built in the 1930s, is the highway from Chengdu to Ya'an, the former capital of Xikang province; kangzang highway, built in the early 1950s, is the road from Ya'an to Lhasa, Tibet, which is known as China's "strange road in the west".
